Quoting Google, Google Cloud Text to Speech (TTS) is a cloud service that allows you to “convert text into natural-sounding speech using an API powered by Google’s AI technologies”. It supports many languages and variants, and provides different voices for each language. Speech output can be customized based on different parameters (pitch, rate, etc), and the produced audio can be fine-tuned according to the type of device it is intended to be used (large speakers, headphones, etc).

The web page include an easy-to-use online demo to preview the available voices; the service provides a free usage tier as well.
