Accessible Colors

This minimal, easy to use web service allows you to quickly test wether the contrast ratio between two colors (foreground and background) is enough for your text to be accessible. In particular, it keeps into account the font size as well as wether you desire AA or AAA WCAG conformance.

What makes this web service unique, though, is its feature to “suggest” appropriate color combinations: if you enter a color combination that is not accessible, it can recommend you the color combinations that are closest to the one you entered, but have enough contrast to be accessible!

Finally, its implementation has been released with an open source license: you can find the code powering Accessible Colors on Github.
